MDC operates with a 100% donations policy meaning any Zakaat, Sadaqah, Lillah donations you make go towards your selected project insha Allah it will be served 100% over 100% without being used by the Charity team.

A 100% donations policy means every single penny donated is used strictly for charitable efforts. Donations made via our website and bank transfers for projects mean nothing is removed for fundraising or administration costs. Whether $1 or $100 therefore, every amount goes on your project so you must feel comfortable when donating.

Like any organisation, MDC has administration costs and overheads to meet, so how do we run the organisation if we don’t touch your valued donations?

How does MDC then cover its administration costs while adhering to a 100% donations policy?

The charity utilises funds received from Gift Aid and Admin option on our website.

           WHATS GIFT AID!

Gift Aid is a scheme available to charities and Community Amature. It means they can claim extra money from (MDC).

The charity or CASC can claim an extra 25p for every £1 or €1 or $1 you donate. That’s as long as you’ve paid the basic rate of tax and make the donation from your own funds. That means Gift Aid can increase the value of your donations by 25%, so you can help the charity do extra work at no extra costs to you.

Gift Aid is important for charities and means millions of pounds extra go to the charity sector. Each time an eligible tax payer donates and forgets to tick the Gift Aid box, the charity misses out.

A charity can claim Gift Aid when you make a monetary donation from your own funds and have paid UG Income and / or Capital Gains Tax during that tax year. The amount of tax you pay needs to be at least equal to the value of Gift Aid the charity or CASC will claim on your donation(s).

If circumstances change and you no longer pay enough tax, it’s important to tell all the charities you support. If you don’t tell them and they continue claiming Gift Aid, you’ll need to pay any difference back to HMRC.

This unique policy sets us apart from most international NGO’s and is the guiding principle of the organisation. Our work is carried out by experienced, committed volunteers and is overseen by trustees with professional, management and charity sector experience. Our work is transparent with all feedback posted daily on our social media channels and website via the LIVE feedback page.

As of 31/01/2017 MDC have 1 employee and over 50 volunteers that help run the charity in the UG. We do not hold fundraising events or have any shops to run in the UG which help our running costs to remain minimal. Our appeals and fundraising takes place via social media and free advertising methods. We believe in showcasing our work via our feedback methods and using social media to engage donors which helps us maintain low costs and our 100% donations policy.
